Photo by swami stream"Charity suffereth long, and is kind..." This is the first part of verse four in 1 Corrinthians. In this verse the Lord is telling us that love is patient and kind. It is not a selfish love. This love is not bestowed on someone because they deserve it. It is given because God says to do it. It is not always easy to love someone. Especially if they hurt you over and over again. It is a choice you decide to make.
It tells us to be kind. Respond in kindness. Kindness will reap great benefits. The person you are kind to may not appreciate it. But God sees every act of kindness and will reward you for it. The more we love the more we are like the Savior.
